La velocidad y el par se adaptan automáticamente a la situación. La velocidad también se puede ajustar manualmente de 3000 a 8500 rpm. Un limitador de corriente electrónico protege el motor contra sobrecargas, se enciende una lámpara de advertencia y se reduce el flujo de corriente al motor. La amoladora angular es resistente al polvo y a las salpicaduras y está equipada con almohadillas de goma antideslizantes en la carcasa. Gracias a la tecnología de detección de retroalimentación activa (AFT), el DGA 511 se apaga si el disco se detiene repentinamente para proteger al usuario de que el dispositivo se balancee abruptamente. Siempre podrá ver el nivel de carga actual de la batería en una pantalla LED en la amoladora angular.
