- Application recommendation: Reducing the contact pressure and peripheral speed and adding grinding oil reduces tool wear and the temperature load on the workpiece. An increase in removal rate should be achieved by using a coarser grit and not by increasing the contact pressure in order to prevent unnecessary tool wear and thermal stress on the workpiece. For best performance, use at a recommended cutting speed of 15-20 m/s. This achieves an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface finish, temperature load on the workpiece and tool wear. Use a suitable grinding oil for the material to significantly increase the service life and grinding performance of the tools. Increasing the cutting speed results in a slightly finer surface finish.
